The Summer Storm Near Witley Court Greetings Card shows an energetic modern landscape drawing that makes a sophisticated card for birthdays or thanks. Witley Court is a ruined mansion near Worcester that experienced a disastrous fire. The ominous gathering clouds over the countryside viewed from the ruins reflect the disaster that befell the great house.

This greetings card shows a pastel drawing on Canson paper.  I saw the wild sky filled with a gathering darkness that only happens in summer. But I only had a limited range of pastel colours available. Sometimes, restrictions can be stimulating and the result was this vibrant and exciting piece where the whole landscape seems to be moving under the force of nature.
