Ceramic sculpture by John Blake in stoneware hand painted with oil paint. Handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. This is a unique item: only one was ever made.

John Blake’s ceramic sculptures are made from stoneware clay which is very hard when fired and has a gritty texture. They are then decorated with traditional artists’ oil paint, which is added in layers and sometimes partially sanded or polished in between. The paint dries to form a patina with a soft sheen that is pleasant to handle. Watch JB at work on these items, explaining how he made them in this video.

These items are reasonably large, very fragile and totally unique. They will be carefully packed –usually double boxed – and sent by DHL with full insurance up to the retail value. We always try to use the best delivery options available, but unfortunately in this case the delivery costs are quite high due to the nature and value of the items.

Orders for original art works can be cancelled up to 14 days after receipt of your order. You do not need to give a reason for cancelling, but you must return the item to us, packed in its original packaging using the return delivery method we arrange or your order will not be deemed cancelled. Your purchase will be refunded when we have received the return.
